The Mid-America Xtreme Adventure Race will be held on the 6th of August, 2016 and will once again, prove to be the premiere event of its type in the Midwest. Racers will be tested by river tubing, trekking, orienteering, ropes, and mountain biking in the pristine forests of upper Michigan and Wisconsin. The race will challenge competitors both mentally and physically in an event which has proven to be as epic as an expedition length race.

The location for the start of the 2016 Mid-America Xtreme Adventure Race will be Fortune Lake Lutheran Camp on the shores of the beautiful Fortune Lake chain in the town of Crystal Falls, in the upper peninsula of Michigan!

Competitors will race across two states, crisscrossing the border of Michigan and Wisconsin, exploring the pristine forests and byways of the upper Michigan and the Nicolet National Forest of Wisconsin. The forests of the upper peninsula of Michigan and Nicolet National Forest encompass some of the most remote and pristine land east of the Mississippi, totaling over a million acres, an area larger than the entire state of Rhode Island!

Racers will explore the forests and waterways on foot, bike, and water in search of the finish line. Is your team ready for the challenge?

Teams will compete on the approximately 25 mile course designed by the Mid-America Xtreme Team. The course is designed to be fun and enjoyable for experienced racers and challenge beginners. It is estimated to take lead teams 3 hours to complete this course while beginners will be able to complete the course in 4 hours. The event will include trail running, off and on road biking, swimming and orienteering.

The 2016 MAX Adventure Challenge will be held in Crystal Falls, Michigan! Competitors will explore the pristine forests and byways of upper Michigan on a course designed for competitors of all experience levels. Up to 40 teams will compete in this event.

This adventure race is designed to be fun and enjoyable for experienced racers and a challenge for beginners while encouraging them to take part in an adventure race.
